Faith and the Arts

Faith and the Arts, part of the Christian Education Division, is an ongoing ministry of our church that sponsors and promotes expressions of faith through the fine arts. Art exhibits, Faith Forum classes and various dramatic productions are developed and sponsored by this division of our Christian Education ministries. In addition, Faith and the Arts partners and enriches a variety of ministries for all ages in our church family including Vacation Bible School, Youth Fellowship, Rally Day and numerous special events throughout the church year. The goals of our Faith and the Arts ministry are to gain a greater knowledge of faith through the arts and to broaden our current outreach ministries.

Mission

The mission of Faith and the Arts is to bring participants to both an enrichment of their faith by way of the arts through appreciation of the arts as they relate to faith. In order to fulfill this mission the Faith and the Arts committee provides opportunities to explore this relationship between faith and the arts in a variety of ways:

• Drama/Music/Dance Experiences
• Movies/Lecture/Discussion
• Trips to regional performances/exhibits/films
• Presentations/discussions on one or more of the high arts, (architecture, cinema, dance, drama, fine art, literature, music, photography, and sculpture)
• Programs for Sunday School/Bible School classes
• Workshops
• Interdenominational Outreach
