REI organizers examine the characteristics of modern-day racial inequity by providing a lively and participatory presentation using stories and data to present the argument that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. The presentation provides participants with critical insights about the impact of institutional racism in our society, covering areas such as education, criminal justice, health care and housing. The Groundwater Presentation is recommended as an introduction (or follow up) to REI’s Phase I, 2-day workshop. (Free event, lunch included.)This is a 3 hour presentation that shares data and statistics as an introduction to racism from a structural/historical lens.
REI (Racial Equity Institute) instructors will present at FPC in Calvin Hall on 17 March 2018 (Saturday) from 12:30 to 3:30. The event is free (registration is required) and food is provided.
This is the same presentation we hosted at FPC in July of 2016.
Alamance Racial Equity Alliance has organized this and it is co-sponsored by the Alamance Chapter of the NAACP and First Presbyterian.
