FPC Youth Ministries-Middle School is the first half of a student’s youth experience here at First Presbyterian Church. All students in the 6th through 8th grades are welcome to be a part of the many opportunities and experiences we have together. Whether we are worshipping, learning, serving, or playing—You belong here and you matter!!
Developmentally, it has been said that as much change happens in a student’s 6th through 8th grade years as between the ages of 1 and 3. There is no better time to build a strong spiritual foundation and be accepted as a vital member of a family of faith than in middle school. FPC’s Middle School Youth Group is a highly active and involved community that strives to build healthy relationships with one another and grow in their understanding of God. Weekly gatherings for Middle School Youth Group begin in September and end in May, with conference and mission opportunities throughout the summer. Weekly gatherings are held on Sunday evenings from 5-6:00 PM, with occasional group outings and service opportunities.

Confirmation (8th Grade)
Sunday Afternoons 4:00–5:00 p.m.. Room 407 (January – April)
The decision is yours. As you enter your 8th grade year in school, you are invited to go on a faith journey, experiencing God in many new ways through study, prayer, worship, and service. You will be challenged and encouraged to develop a close and personal relationship with Christ. This journey is called Confirmation, a process in which you reaffirm your baptism and make a personal profession of faith that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.
Massanetta MS Conference
Each June, a group of Middle School Youth from FPC travel to Harrisonburg, VA, to attend the Massanetta MS Conference at Massanetta Springs Camp and Conference Center. Registration for this event is open to all interested 6th through 8th grade students. Registration form and deposit money are due each February.

Each Summer, Mission Madness offers a local hands-on service opportunity for middle school youth across Alamance County: joined by Crossroads PC, Hawfields PC and Splringwood PC. Meeting from 8 a.m.–1 p.m. for three days the last week of July gives students a small taste of the many needs of others in this community and just how much they can help out. Whether shopping, shorting, playing , laughing, or listening – there is something for everyone.
If a student is in need of financial assistance for any MS Youth related activity or trip, additional funds are available upon request. Please contact Becky Wagoner – firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss any needs or requests.
