Rev. Lisa Florence Mullen comes to us most recently from John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Salisbury, but has made her home in High Point, NC for the past 35 years, where she served her first pastorate. She has served in Salem Presbytery and the Moravian Southern Province as a PCUSA and Moravian pastor, and an educator for outdoor ministries. Originally from the Shenandoah Valley, she was closest to God being outside, and finds environmental spiritual practices to be some of the best ways to understand our place in God’s realm.
Lisa graduated from Longwood College with a BS degree in Therapeutic Recreation, from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education with an MA in Christian Education, from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond with an MDiv, and from the Ecumenical Institute at the Château de Bossey in Switzerland with a Certificate in Ecumenical Studies.
Lisa enjoys cheering on Wake, NC State and UNC, listening to folk music, and watching Perry Mason and other old 60s shows, with her husband Chris, a retired ESL teacher, whom she met at seminary. She also loves being with her young adult children, Anna and Isaac and the family dogs, Luka, Sakari, and Aliki. She spends her leisure time writing pysanky, painting with pastels, reading, gardening, swimming, and sharing conversation over a good cup of chai.
